Barely hours after announcing a fresh hike, Dangote Refinery has again adjusted petrol prices upward, signalling intensifying pressure in Nigeria’s fuel market as global crude costs continue to climb.
In a new notice to customers, the refinery increased its gantry price of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) from ₦1,245 to ₦1,275 per litre an additional ₦30 hike within the same day. The revised price takes effect from 12:00 a.m. March 21, 2026, and replaces all previously communicated rates.
The company stressed that “the prices contained in our previous correspondence are no longer applicable and should be disregarded,” indicating a full reset of its pricing structure amid fast-changing market conditions.
The coastal supply price was also raised from ₦1,512,648 to ₦1,646,748 per metric tonne, with the new rates applying to all pending and unloaded volumes. Customers with valid Bank Guarantees are to continue loading under existing ATCs and PRNs, provided they cover the price differential.
The back-to-back increases highlight the speed at which global crude price movements are feeding into Nigeria’s downstream market, raising the likelihood of further pump price hikes nationwide.
