Retail prices of Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG), popularly known as cooking gas, have risen to about N1,500 per kilogram in parts of Lagos following worsening supply shortages at major depots, Petroleumprice.ng has gathered.
Market checks on Tuesday showed that Navgas currently remains the only depot on the Lagos mainland with available LPG stock for loading.
Depot pricing data monitored by Petroleumprice.ng showed that Navgas increased its loading price to N1,120 per kilogram on May 13, 2026, amid tightening supply conditions across the LPG market.
Industry operators said the shortage has reduced product accessibility for marketers and bulk buyers, forcing retailers to adjust prices upward across several parts of Lagos.
According to market participants, the limited availability of LPG at depots is increasing pressure on the domestic supply chain and affecting retail distribution.
The development reflects growing strain within Nigeria’s LPG market despite rising consumer demand for cooking gas across households and commercial users.
Stakeholders warned that continued supply constraints at Lagos depots could sustain upward pressure on retail prices if fresh product inflows fail to improve market availability in the coming days.
