Dangote Petrol Price Remains ₦1075/L, Petroleumprice.ng Vows to Take Legal Action Against Fabricators

Petroleumprice.ng has condemned the circulation of a fabricated publication falsely claiming that Dangote petroleum Refinery reduced its petrol gantry price to ₦1,025 per litre and commenced direct fuel supply to filling stations across selected states.

Petroleumprice.ng can clarify that Dangote Refinery's official gantry price remains ₦1,075 per litre, adding that no such announcement was issued by the refinery or published by Petroleumprice.ng.

Describing the act as criminal, Petroleumprice.ng said the unauthorised use of its logo, branding and identity amounts to impersonation, forgery and the dissemination of false information capable of causing economic disruption and misleading stakeholders in Nigeria's downstream petroleum sector.

The organisation disclosed that it has identified the source of the fabricated circular and has commenced legal proceedings. It said those responsible will be held accountable under the provisions of the Cybercrimes (Prohibition, Prevention, etc.) Act, 2015 (as amended) and other applicable Nigerian laws governing identity theft, electronic fraud, forgery and the malicious publication of false information.

We are reaffirming our commitment to publishing only verified petroleum market intelligence and urged Nigerians, marketers, depot operators and other stakeholders to rely exclusively on Petroleumprice.ng's verified website and official social media handles for authentic updates on petroleum prices and market developments. Petroleumprice.ng is issuing a strong warning that we will continue to pursue both civil and criminal remedies against any individual or organisation that impersonates the brand, publishes fabricated reports or deliberately circulates false information capable of misleading the public or disrupting the downstream petroleum industry.
