Shipping and discharge records reviewed by Petroleumprice.ng show that NNPC Trading, the trading arm of the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL), delivered a total of 869,248 metric tonnes of crude oil to Dangote Oil and Gas Company Limited through multiple cargo shipments discharged between February 22 and March 11, 2026.
The deliveries come amid recent industry speculations suggesting that the Dangote refinery may not be receiving sufficient crude supply from NNPCL, although the latest discharge records indicate continued shipments from the state oil company during the review period.
The deliveries, sourced from Nigerian crude export streams including Anyala, Bonny, Odudu, and Escravos, form part of the feedstock supply supporting operations at the 650,000 barrels-per-day Dangote refinery.
Refinery shipping records indicate that the first cargo linked to NNPC Trading during the period was transported by the tanker SONANGOL KALANDULA, which delivered 128,000 metric tonnes of crude oil loaded from Anyala, Nigeria. The vessel arrived on February 22, 2026, berthed on February 28, and sailed on March 1 after completing discharge.
Another shipment was carried by the tanker BARBAROSA, which transported 125,000 metric tonnes of crude oil from the Odudu Terminal. The vessel arrived on February 23, berthed on March 3, and departed on March 4 after offloading the cargo.
A third cargo supplied by NNPC Trading came through the tanker CAVALRY, which discharged 128,046 metric tonnes of Bonny crude. The vessel arrived on February 24, berthed on February 26, and sailed on February 28.
Further deliveries were recorded through the tanker NORDIC SPACE, which discharged 139,278 metric tonnes of Bonny crude supplied by NNPC Trading. The vessel arrived on February 28, berthed on March 2, and departed on March 3 after completing discharge operations.
Another cargo was delivered by MERCURY MOON, which transported 88,669 metric tonnes of crude oil from Anyala under an NNPC Trading supply arrangement. The vessel arrived on March 3, berthed on March 6, and sailed on March 7.
The refinery also received an additional cargo from NORDIC SPACE, carrying 128,891 metric tonnes of Bonny crude. The vessel arrived on March 9, berthed on March 10, and departed on March 11 after discharging the shipment.
The final NNPC-linked cargo within the reviewed window was delivered by BARBAROSA, which transported 131,364 metric tonnes of Escravos crude. The vessel arrived on March 9, berthed on March 10, and sailed on March 11 after completing the discharge.
Combined, the seven cargoes amount to 869,248 metric tonnes of crude oil supplied by NNPC Trading to the Dangote refinery during the late February–mid March 2026 delivery cycle, based on the refinery’s discharge report.
Earlier NNPC-Supplied Cargoes to the Refinery
Additional historical discharge data from the refinery also shows earlier crude deliveries by NNPC Trading in July 2024, further highlighting the company’s role as a key domestic supplier to the refinery.
One such cargo was delivered by the tanker ADVANTAGE START, which transported 1,303,970 barrels of crude oil loaded from Escravos, Nigeria. The vessel arrived on July 11, 2024, berthed on July 14, and sailed on July 16 after completing discharge.
Another shipment was carried by SIENNA, delivering 1,690,920 barrels of crude oil loaded from an offshore FPSO in Nigeria under an NNPC Trading supply arrangement. The tanker arrived on July 18, berthed on July 19, and departed on July 20.
The refinery also received an additional cargo from ADVANTAGE START, which transported 1,305,700 barrels of crude oil loaded from Forcados, Nigeria. The vessel arrived on July 20, berthed on July 23, and sailed on July 25 after discharging the shipment.
Together, the records indicate that NNPC Trading supplied multiple crude cargoes from key Nigerian export grades, including Bonny, Escravos, Forcados, and Anyala, reinforcing the state oil company’s role in providing domestic feedstock supply to the privately owned Dangote refinery.
