Dangote Petroleum Refinery has introduced new safety compliance requirements for trucks loading Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) at its gantry facilities, with operators required to complete the modifications by October 31, 2026.

The refinery said the requirements are aimed at ensuring trucks are compatible with its loading system and preventing the release of petrol fumes during loading operations.

Under the new requirements, trucks must have compartment covers capable of opening fully to 180 degrees and lying flat on the plane of the truck.

The refinery also requires cover brackets and fittings to be positioned in a way that does not obstruct the insertion of loading arms.

In addition, compartment openings must be designed to allow the loading arm seal to sit properly, helping to prevent the escape of petrol fumes during loading.

Dangote said the modifications are necessary to maintain a safe and efficient loading environment for customers, partners, personnel and operations at the refinery.

The refinery advised customers to complete the required modifications before the deadline to avoid disruptions to their product lifting activities.

From November 1, 2026, only trucks that meet the specified safety requirements will be permitted to load PMS at Dangote Refinery’s gantry facilities.

The refinery also urged customers to engage their logistics and fleet management teams ahead of the deadline to ensure their trucks are compliant and ready for loading.

Dangote said the measures are part of its broader efforts to maintain safety standards and operational efficiency at its loading facilities.
