The Dangote Petroleum Refinery and Petrochemicals exported multiple cargoes of Aviation Turbine Kerosene (ATK) to Europe in March, with shipment data indicating increased flows to key destinations including Rotterdam, Milford Haven, and Amsterdam.
A review of loading operations by Petroleumprice.ng shows that a combined total of 150,579 metric tonnes of jet fuel was shipped to these European locations, underscoring rising demand amid a tightening global Jet A1 market.
One of the cargoes involved the vessel CEPOLIS, which loaded 42,905 metric tonnes for delivery to Rotterdam, with BPas the offtaker. Another shipment aboard TORM STRENGTH transported 41,674 metric tonnes to Milford Haven, also linked to BP.
In addition, TORM EMILIE 1 was scheduled to deliver 66,000 metric tonnes to Amsterdam, marking the largest single European-bound cargo within the review period and highlighting sustained demand from Northwest Europe.
The data further shows active participation from global trading firms such as Vitol and Trafigura, alongside BP, reflecting deeper integration of Dangote’s jet fuel into international supply networks.
In total, 11 ATK cargoes were loaded from the refinery during the period under review, with Europe accounting for a significant share of the export volumes.
Beyond Europe, additional shipments were directed to markets including Lomé, Durban, and Luanda, alongside domestic deliveries within Nigeria, indicating a broad and diversified distribution footprint.
Market analysts say the increased shipments to Europe come amid a global Jet A1 crisis, driven by supply disruptions, geopolitical tensions, and constrained refining output in traditional hubs. The shift toward Atlantic Basin suppliers is expected to persist, positioning the Dangote refinery as a growing alternative source of aviation fuel for European markets.
