Ghana has received its first known consignment of aviation fuel from the Dangote Petroleum Refinery, marking a major milestone in regional energy trade. The transaction, facilitated by international oil trading company Vitol, saw the fuel delivered to a Bulk Import, Distribution, and Export Company (BIDEC) in Ghana.
This development highlights the increasing impact of the $20 billion Dangote Refinery, which is becoming a key supplier of refined petroleum products across West Africa. It also comes at a crucial time, as Ghana’s aviation sector grows to meet rising air travel demands.
