Depot Prices Weekly Review: 5th – 9th May 2025

As at today, 10th May 2025, petroleum depot prices across Nigeria’s major supply corridors showed slight but notable fluctuations between 5th and 9th May weekly review.

This review tracks the pricing patterns for Premium Motor Spirit (PMS), Automotive Gas Oil (AGO), Aviation Turbine Kerosene (ATK), and Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) from Dangote Refinery, Dockyard, Coconut, Satellite, Delta, Port Harcourt, and Calabar depots.

These changes reflect ongoing adjustments influenced by logistics, demand trends, supply disruptions, and regional refinery output.

Dangote Refinery Prices: 5 – 9 May 2025

  • PMS: ₦839 → ₦830
  • AGO: ₦940 → ₦930
  • LPG: ₦899 → ₦905
  • ATK: ₦1,000 → ₦975

PMS and AGO witnessed slight downward movements. ATK dropped significantly by ₦25, while LPG saw a marginal increase—indicating improving supply or increased uptake.

Dockyard Axis Depot Prices

PMS:

  • Aiteo: ₦840 → ₦840
  • Nipco: ₦842 → ₦842

AGO:

  • Nipco: ₦955 → ₦945
  • Aiteo: ₦940 → ₦913

LPG:

Stable PMS prices but notable reductions in AGO and LPG hint at cost-based adjustments or supply balancing.

Coconut Axis Depot Prices

  • MRS Tincan: ₦838 → ₦836

AGO:

  • Ibeto: ₦940 → ₦920

Minor drops across the board suggest tighter market liquidity in this region.

  • Matrix Warri: ₦860 → ₦855
  • Shafa: ₦860 → ₦854

The Delta axis saw across-the-board declines for PMS and AGO, with ATK remaining stable, possibly due to constant industrial demand.

Port Harcourt Depot Prices

PMS:

  • SIGMUND: ₦868 → ₦865
  • EVER: ₦870 → ₦866

The coastal depots in Port Harcourt maintained competitive pricing with slight corrections.

PMS:

  • Fynefield: ₦872 → ₦869
  • Mainland: ₦874 → ₦870
  • Alkanes: ₦872 → ₦869

Minor price drops observed in PMS show a trend consistent with national averages. Supply channels into the South-South region appear efficient.

Market Outlook & Industry Insight

The week ending 9th May 2025 revealed a bearish outlook for AGO, largely influenced by surplus inventories and reduced off-take. PMS remained relatively stable in most regions but saw small dips tied to logistics delays and competitive pricing.

LPG made slight gains at Dangote, while ATK experienced mixed outcomes—declining in key aviation hubs like Satellite but holding firm in Coconut and Delta.

As Dangote Refinery continues scaling production, more price adjustments are expected across the downstream value chain. Marketers and haulage firms must monitor these trends to optimise stock planning and pricing.

Stakeholders expect the NMDPRA to maintain regulatory vigilance, ensuring fairness, product quality, and open market competitiveness as the deregulated regime stabilises.
