Proceedings at various petroleum depots in Nigeria, particularly in Lagos, have experienced reduced activity as the Federal Government declared Monday, September 16, 2024, a public holiday to mark the celebration of Eid-ul-Maulid, the birth of the Holy Prophet Muhammad.
According to our stationed reporters, at the Dockyard axis, there has been almost no presence of marketers at Nipco, AP, AZ, Hermose, Conoil, and MRS depots this morning. Full resumption of PMS, AGO, and other products is expected tomorrow, September 17, 2024.
Furthermore, at Satellite, despite the public holiday, AGO and PMS are being loaded at Rainoil, TMDK, and Shellplux AA Rano, but prices remain undisclosed. Due to the holiday, Stallionaire has no product available for loading, nor do First Royal. Others not loading AGO today include Chipet, Menj, and Mao.
As the situation changes by the hour, our journalist observed that at Nipco’s gate, no marketers were present, and no activity was noticed due to the public holiday, giving the area a peaceful atmosphere. Roads that are usually busy with trucks parked on both sides were notably clear.
Business at the Coconut axis is slow, but MRS and Eterna depots are loading PMS seamlessly. Therefore, activities in the Coconut axis are fairly lively, though with less traffic than usual.
Further away in Epe, Dangote and Pinnacle depots are reportedly working and loading. Unlike the more subdued activity on the mainland, the Epe area is noticeably busier than other petroleum depots.
