Depots Cut Petrol Prices to Compete With Dangote After Latest Price Review

Depot owners across major petroleum distribution hubs in Nigeria have reduced petrol prices following the latest price review by the Dangote Petroleum Refinery, intensifying competition in the downstream fuel market.

Depot price data monitored by petroleumprice.ng on March 11, 2026, indicates that several operators adjusted their Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) prices downward as marketers increasingly compare depot loading costs with Dangote’s ex-gantry price.

Lagos Depots Adjust Prices

In Lagos, three depots reviewed their petrol loading rates.

Nipco depot sold PMS at ₦1,085 per litre, Swift depot priced its product at ₦1,075 per litre, while Aiteo depot sold at ₦1,080 per litre.

Warri Depots Follow

In Warri, two depots also adjusted their prices. Zamson depot sold petrol at ₦1,125 per litre, while Sayas depot priced its product at ₦1,123 per litre.

Calabar Depots Align Prices

In Calabar, depot prices were largely aligned. Dozzy depot, Mainland depot, and Alkanes depot each sold petrol at ₦1,130 per litre.

Port Harcourt Depot

In Port Harcourt, Sigmund depot sold petrol at ₦1,130 per litre.

Industry observers say the price adjustments reflect increasing competition in the domestic fuel supply market as depot operators respond to the pricing influence of large-scale local refining.
