Several filling stations have reduced their petrol pump prices following Dangote Petroleum Refinery's latest reduction in its petrol gantry price, Petroleumprice.ng gathered.
The refinery recently lowered its ex-depot price for Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) to ₦1,250 per litre from ₦1,275 per litre, triggering fresh adjustments across parts of the retail market.
A market survey conducted by Petroleumprice.ng on Sunday showed that petrol prices in the Igando area of Lagos ranged between ₦1,272 and ₦1,295 per litre, with marketers adopting different pricing positions after the refinery's price review.
Toluwalase Petroleum sold petrol at ₦1,272 per litre, the lowest among the stations surveyed, while MRS dispensed the product at ₦1,279 per litre. Ardova Plc was selling at ₦1,280 per litre, whereas NNPC Retail maintained a pump price of ₦1,295 per litre.
Outside Lagos, an NNPC Retail outlet in Abeokuta was also selling petrol at ₦1,295 per litre.
The latest retail prices indicate that some marketers have begun reflecting the impact of the refinery's revised ex-depot rate, although price disparities remain across outlets.
Industry observers say retail pricing continues to be influenced by a combination of supply costs, logistics expenses, inventory positions and individual marketing strategies, resulting in varying pump prices even within the same locality.
With Dangote Refinery's new gantry price now in effect, market participants will be watching to see whether additional filling stations adjust their pump prices in the coming days.
