Several petroleum depots in Lagos have reduced their diesel prices to below Dangote Petroleum Refinery’s new gantry rate of ₦1,840 per litre, with the adjustments recorded less than 24 hours after the refinery announced its price increase.
Market data reviewed by Petroleumprice.ng on Wednesday, October 28, 2026, showed that Duport, Ibachem and Ibeto had priced Automotive Gas Oil (AGO), commonly known as diesel, at ₦1,825 per litre. African Terminal and Integrated listed the product at ₦1,830 per litre, while Menj quoted ₦1,835 per litre.
The revisions place the listed prices between ₦5 and ₦15 per litre below Dangote Refinery’s new rate, highlighting price differences among suppliers in the downstream petroleum market.
Duport and Ibachem reduced their prices from ₦1,835 to ₦1,825 per litre, while African Terminal revised its rate to ₦1,830 per litre. Integrated also listed diesel at ₦1,830, and Ibeto quoted ₦1,825 per litre.
The price adjustments come amid competition among downstream suppliers for customers. Depots may seek to attract greater market patronage by offering prices below those of competing suppliers, although the available data do not confirm the specific reasons behind each operator’s decision.
Dangote Refinery raised its diesel gantry price from ₦1,800 to ₦1,840 per litre, representing an increase of ₦40, or approximately 2.2 percent, effective Wednesday.
In a circular made available to Petroleumprice.ng, the refinery’s Group Commercial Operations directed customers to return existing Authority to Collect (ATC) documents for repricing. It said new volume contracts would be issued to allow loading at the revised rate.
The latest figures show that the identified depots were offering diesel below Dangote Refinery’s revised gantry price as of October 28. Actual prices paid by buyers may vary according to supplier terms and individual transactions.
