Nigeria’s Oil and Gas Stakeholders Brace Up for 2024 Conference

The Association of Energy Correspondents of Nigeria (NAEC) is set to host its 2024 Annual Strategic International Conference on Thursday, October 3, 2024, at the Eko Hotel and Suites, Victoria Island, Lagos. This year’s theme, “Gas as Energy Transition Fuel: Navigating Nigeria’s Trilemma of Finance, Energy Security, and International Politics,” reflects the growing need to harness Nigeria’s abundant natural gas resources for sustainable energy.

The conference promises to be a pivotal platform for stakeholders, including operators, policymakers, investors, and analysts, to discuss critical developments in the oil and gas, power, and renewable energy sectors. Keynote addresses will be delivered by top government officials, including Minister of State for Petroleum Resources (Gas) Ekperikpe Ekpo, Minister of State for Petroleum Resources (Oil) Senator Heineken Lokpobiri, and Minister of Power Chief Adebayo Adelabu.

Mallam Mele Kolo Kyari, Group Chief Executive Officer of the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL), will deliver the industry keynote address. Regulators, including Gbenga Komolafe, Felix Ogbe, Farouk Ahmed, and Dr Orji Ogbonnaya Orji, will also provide addresses.

Special presentations will be made by industry experts, including Mr Ed Ubong, Devakumar Edwin, Dr Philip Mshelbila, and Mr Robert Dickerman. The conference will feature panel sessions focused on Nigeria’s energy challenges and opportunities.

NAEC Chairman Ugo Amadi emphasized that the conference will tackle Nigeria’s pressing energy challenges head-on, providing strategic solutions for energy security and sustainable growth. Adeola Yusuf, Chairman of the NAEC 2024 Conference Committee, described the event as a game-changer for the Nigerian energy industry, promising actionable insights and innovative strategies to propel the sector forward.
