The Nigerian Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority (NMDPRA) on Tuesday held a formal handover ceremony to mark the transition from the outgoing Authority Chief Executive, Engr. Farouk Ahmed, to the incoming Authority Chief Executive, Engr. Saidu Aliyu Mohammed.
The event highlighted the regulator’s focus on institutional continuity, accountability, and stable leadership within Nigeria’s midstream and downstream petroleum sector.
During the ceremony, Ahmed formally transferred official documents and responsibilities to Mohammed in a symbolic handover. Executive Directors, senior management, and members of staff witnessed the process, which reflected an orderly and transparent leadership transition in line with public service regulations and corporate governance best practices.
The authority said the handover process reinforced its commitment to seamless leadership changes while ensuring the uninterrupted execution of its regulatory mandate.
