The Nigerian National Petroleum Company (NNPC) Ltd has set big goals to improve Nigeria’s oil and gas sector. The company plans to attract $60 billion in investments and increase daily oil production to two million barrels by 2027.
New Plans for Growth
Speaking at a staff meeting in Abuja, the Group CEO, Bayo Ojulari, said NNPC aims to bring in $30 billion by 2027 and double that to $60 billion by 2030. The company also plans to:
- Produce 3 million barrels per day by 2030
- Expand oil refining to 500,000 barrels per day
- Boost gas output to 12 billion cubic feet per day
- Improve access to energy for all Nigerians
Steps to Achieve the Goals
Ojulari explained how NNPC will reach these targets. He said the company will become more flexible, make decisions based on data, and form strong partnerships. A new performance tracking system will help keep everyone on target.
He stressed that these goals are more than just numbers, they are about creating jobs, ensuring energy is available, and helping the economy grow.
