NUPENG has called off its nationwide strike after striking a deal with the Dangote Group, immediately easing fears of fuel shortages and restoring calm across the downstream sector.
“Fellow marketers, we are glad to inform you that the ongoing strike has been called off after a resolution from the Dangote Group and NUPENG. We thank all marketers for your solidarity and support while the strike lasted. All marketers can now go about with our normal businesses as the details of the negotiations unfold.”

The truce followed a decisive meeting convened by the Department of State Services (DSS) with government ministers and Dangote executives. Although details remain under wraps, the agreement reportedly addressed core issues of union rights and worker welfare, ensuring operations return to normal.
