The Petroleum Products Retail Outlets Owners Association of Nigeria (PETROAN) recently awarded Mele Kyari, the Group Chief Executive Officer (GCEO) of Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL), in recognition of his exceptional productivity and transformative leadership in the energy sector. The accolade was presented by PETROAN’s National President, Prince Dr. Billy Gillis-Harry, further solidifying Kyari’s reputation as a driving force in Nigeria’s oil and gas industry.

Since assuming leadership in 2019, he has overseen NNPCL’s evolution into a profit-driven and globally competitive enterprise, with the company declaring its first profit in 44 years in 2020. His achievements include the successful passage of the Petroleum Industry Act (PIA) and initiatives aimed at expanding gas infrastructure, such as the OB-3 and AKK gas pipelines.
