Petroleumprice.ng opened voting today, September 21, for the 2026 Recognition and Awards, with Barr. Mrs. Ngozi Ekeoma, Dr. Victoria Samson, and Mrs. Nkechi Obi, OON, emerged as the top three nominees in the Female Depot Owner of the Year category.
The three nominees emerged from an award nomination exercise that recorded more than 15,000 entries and close to 3,000 nominations across the categories.
Ekeoma, Group Managing Director of Nepal Energies Limited, recorded the highest selection score in the category with 40.5 percent. Samson, Group Managing Director of BOVAS, followed with 34 percent, while Obi, Group Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Techno Oil, recorded 25.5 percent.
Barr. Mrs. Ngozi Ekeoma — 40.5%
Ekeoma is the Group Managing Director of Nepal Energies Limited, an indigenous energy company with interests spanning petroleum trading, supply, storage and related energy services.
Her nomination places her among the industry executives shortlisted for recognition under the Female Depot Owner of the Year category.
With her role at the helm of Nepal Energies, Ekeoma has been involved in the company’s downstream and energy operations as it continues to participate in Nigeria’s petroleum supply chain.
She secured 40.5 percent in the selection process to emerge as the leading nominee in the category.
Dr. Victoria Samson — 34%
Samson is the Group Managing Director of BOVAS Group, an indigenous downstream petroleum company with interests in petroleum products marketing and energy services.
She brings decades of experience in Nigeria’s petroleum industry to her current role. Her professional background includes experience with international oil companies before she became involved in the development of BOVAS.
Her leadership has placed her among notable female executives in Nigeria’s downstream petroleum space, earning her a place among the three nominees in the category.
Samson recorded 34 percent in the selection process.
Mrs. Nkechi Obi, OON — 25.5%
Obi is the Group Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Techno Oil Limited, an indigenous energy company with interests including petroleum products, LPG and clean-energy solutions.
She has more than three decades of experience in the petroleum industry and previously worked with ExxonMobil before establishing Techno Oil.
Obi has led the company’s expansion across different areas of the energy value chain and has also been recognised for her contribution to Nigeria’s business and energy sectors.
She holds the national honour of Officer of the Order of the Niger (OON) and recorded 25.5 percent in the selection process.
Voting for the Petroleumprice.ng Recognition and Awards 2026 runs from September 21 to October 31, 2026, allowing members of the public to participate in the selection process.
The Female Depot Owner of the Year category is one of five categories in this year’s awards, which seek to recognise individuals and organisations making notable contributions to Nigeria’s downstream petroleum industry.
