Petroleumprice.ng has launched its Depot Historical Prices service, providing structured historical pricing data for PMS, AGO, LPG and ATK across 92 depots in Nigeria’s major petroleum trading hubs.
The service is designed to give industry participants access to historical depot-level pricing information that can be used to track market movements, compare prices across locations, and assess changes in downstream petroleum product pricing over time.
The database covers four major petroleum products: Premium Motor Spirit (PMS), Automotive Gas Oil (AGO), Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) and Aviation Turbine Kerosene (ATK).
Users can access historical prices across Lagos, Warri, Port Harcourt, Calabar, and Akwa Ibom, with the database currently covering 92 individual depots across the five locations.
The Lagos hub accounts for the largest share of the available depots, with 51 facilities, followed by Warri with 16, Port Harcourt with 15, Calabar with nine, and Akwa Ibom with one.
The platform allows users to select individual depots or analyse prices across an entire location, providing flexibility for users seeking either specific depot information or broader market comparisons.
Historical data is available from January 1, 2025, with users able to select three-month, six-month, or one-year periods depending on the scope of their analysis.
The service also allows users to select specific products and depots before exporting the resulting price data. This provides a structured way to obtain historical information for market analysis, research, reporting, procurement planning and other industry-related activities.
For petroleum marketers and traders, the historical records can provide a basis for comparing depot prices across different locations and examining how individual products have moved over selected periods.
Energy analysts and researchers can also use the data to assess historical pricing patterns and differences between petroleum trading hubs, while journalists and media organisations can draw on depot-level records when examining developments in Nigeria’s downstream petroleum market.
The database covers a broad range of individual facilities, including major depots and refining facilities across the covered locations. Users can therefore move beyond general market averages and examine pricing information associated with specific depots.
The launch expands Petroleumprice.ng’s digital petroleum data offering at a time when downstream market participants increasingly require timely and historical information to understand changes in product pricing.
Rather than relying solely on current market prices, users can use the historical database to examine how prices have changed over a defined period and compare movements between products, locations, and individual depots.
The service is available through the Historical Data section of Petroleumprice.ng, where users can select their preferred products, duration, and depot coverage before exporting the selected data.
