United States President Donald Trump has indicated that Washington could launch further strikes against Iran, saying the US still has one or two military targets to deal with despite ongoing negotiations to end the conflict.

Trump made the remarks on Saturday while speaking to reporters at his Florida residence, claiming that US forces had significantly weakened Iran's military capabilities and nuclear programme.

He identified Pickaxe Mountain, a suspected underground nuclear facility, as one of the possible targets, saying the US could strike the remaining sites within minutes.

However, the Iranian government has denied conducting nuclear activities at the location.

Trump said negotiations with Tehran were progressing but questioned Iran's reliability, adding that Washington was not in a hurry to resume offensive military operations.

His comments came amid heightened tensions after Iran's Supreme Leader, Mojtaba Khamenei, warned that any fresh attack by the US or Israel would trigger an immediate response extending beyond geographical limits.

Khamenei also directed Iranian military commanders to update their target lists to include American and Israeli assets.

Meanwhile, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio said Trump had not made a decision on further military action, maintaining that Washington remained open to a diplomatic resolution.

The conflict, which began in February following US-Israeli strikes on Iran, has disrupted shipping through the Strait of Hormuz, a critical global energy transit route responsible for about one-fifth of global oil consumption.

The restrictions have contributed to rising international energy prices, with concerns mounting over further disruptions to crude oil and petroleum product supplies.

Iran's Revolutionary Guards also reported that three oil tankers had been halted following unspecified incidents or possible mine strikes, while Iranian state television reported that another vessel caught fire after striking a mine in the strait.

Diplomatic efforts involving Qatar and Pakistan are ongoing, although negotiations have yet to produce a lasting agreement.

Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said discussions through mediators were continuing but indicated that no direct meeting with US officials had been scheduled.

Iran has also maintained that restrictions on shipping through the Strait of Hormuz would remain until its conditions, including the release of frozen assets, were addressed.
